Enrollment details of primary and secondary schools functioning under the Department of Primary Education, number of junk schools, number of buildings, details of approved nursery and primary schools are to be discussed. In private matriculation schools, 30 petitions have been received by the Department of Education's information center alleging extra fees to students. Of those, only 5 have been investigated and completed. A further 25 petitions are pending.
Primary education officers working in the school education department are also advised that the district education officers should inspect the accreditation of the schools. However, with 343 schools operating in Tiruvallur district, the accreditation of 121 schools has not been renewed. Similarly, out of 290 schools operating in Chennai district, 85 schools did not renew the accreditation of more than 25 per cent of the matriculation schools operating in 11 districts. It was also revealed that out of the schools operating under the Matriculation Schools Directorate, 25 schools do not have initial admission. The schools have been banned from enrolling students if they do not get admission within the next academic year and the school education department has sent them a notice. Similarly, out of the nursery and primary schools functioning under the Department of Primary Education, 390 private schools were found to be operating without obtaining primary permission. These schools also need to get approval before the start of the coming academic year. If not, the school education department has announced a ban on enrolling students in those schools. It is in this context that the District Primary Education Officers are to seriously discuss the above issues at the meeting. After that the above schools are expected to take close school action.

பள்ளிக் கல்வித்துறையில் பணியாற்றும் முதன்மைக்கல்வி அலுவலர்கள் மாவட்ட கல்வி அலுவலர்கள் பள்ளிகளின் அங்கீகாரம் தொடர்பாக ஆய்வு செய்ய வேண்டும் என்றும் அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. எனினும், திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டத்தில் 343 பள்ளிகள் இயங்கி வரும் நிலையில், 121 பள்ளிகளின் அங்கீகாரம் புதுப்பிக்கவில்லை. அதேபோல சென்னை மாவட்டத்தில் இயங்கிவரும் 290 பள்ளிகளில் 85 பள்ளிகள் என 11 மாவட்டங்களில் இயங்கும் மெட்ரிக்குலேஷன் பள்ளிகளில் 25 சதவீதத்துக்கும் மேல் அங்கீகாரத்தை புதுப்பிக்கவில்லை. மெட்ரிக்குலேஷன் பள்ளிகள் இயக்ககத்தின் கீழ் செயல்படும் பள்ளிகளில் 25 பள்ளிகள் தொடக்க அனுமதி பெறாமல் இருப்பதும் தெரியவந்துள்ளது. அந்த பள்ளிகள், வரும் கல்வியாண்டுக்குள் அனுமதி பெறாவிட்டால் மாணவர்களை சேர்க்க தடை விதிக்கவும் பள்ளிக் கல்வித்துறை அறிவித்து அவர்களுக்கு உரிய நோட்டீசும் அனுப்பியுள்ளது. அதேபோல, தொடக்க கல்வித்துறையின் கீழ் செயல்பட்டு வரும் நர்சரி, பிரைமரி பள்ளிகளில் 390 தனியார் பள்ளிகள் தொடக்க அனுமதி பெறாமல் இயங்கி வருவதும் தெரியவந்துள்ளது. இந்த பள்ளிகளும், வரும் கல்வியாண்டு தொடங்குவதற்குள் அனுமதியை பெற வேண்டும். இல்லை என்றால் அந்த ப ள்ளிகளில் மாணவர்களை சேர்க்க தடை விதிக்கவும் பள்ளிக் கல்வித்துறை அறிவித்துள்ளது. இந்நிலையில்தான் மாவட்ட முதன்மைக் கல்வி அலுவலர்கள் கூட்டத்தில் மேற்கண்ட பிரச்னைகள் குறித்து தீவிரமாக ஆலோசிக்க உள்ளனர். அதற்கு பிறகு மேற்கண்ட பள்ளிகள் மூடபள்ளிக் கல்வித்துறை நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.
