From the Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Letter No.CC4/655/2021, dated 17.08.2021.

ORDER:

Hon'ble Minister (Commercial Taxes and Registration), while moving the demands for Commercial Taxes on the floor of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on 06.09.2021, made the following announcement among others:

*தமிழகத்தில் தற்போது பத்து இலட்சத்திற்கும் மேலான வரி செலுத்துவோர் உள்ளனர். இவர்கள் மாதாமாதம் அறிக்கை தாக்கல் செய்வதைக் கண்காணிக்கவும் தாமதமாக அறிக்கை தாக்கல் செய்யப்படுவதைத் தவிர்க்கவும் எதுவாக, வரி செலுத்துவோரை தொடர்ந்து வலியுறுத்த புதிய அழைப்பு மையங்கள் ஏற்படுத்தப்படும். முதற்கட்டமாக, 40 பணியாளர்களைக் கொண்ட அழைப்பு மையம் ஒன்று 'தமிழ்நாடு மின் ஆளுமை முகமை' (TNeGA) மூலமாக சென்னையில் நிறுவப்படும். இதற்கான தொடர் செலவினம் மூன்று ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ரூ.5.45 கோடி ஆகும்"

2. To give effect to the above announcement of Hon'ble Minister (Commercial Taxes and Registration), the Principal Secretary/ Commissioner of Commercial Taxes has sent proposals to Government in the reference read above to engage a service provider through the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNEGA) to provide Call Centre services to support the work of follow-up of return non-filers to ensure regular reminders to the taxpayers and ensure timely tax collection. The features of the project are as detailed below:
