1.0 Hon'ble TNERC has issued certain amendments in Tamilnadu Electricity Supply code in regulation 5, in sub regulation (3) and the same has been published in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette No.32 Dated 05.08.2020 in respect of Shifting of agriculture service connection.
2.0 In this regard, following instructions are issued in respect of shifting of agriculture service connection. A. Salient features of TNERC amendment: • Shifting of an existing agricultural service connection may be permitted within TANGEDCO jurisdiction. The charges of dismantling in the existing location and erection in the newly proposed location towards shifting shall be borne by the consumer under Deposit Contribution Works(DCW) basis.
. Shifting is permissible after one year from the date of effecting the service connection in the existing location or from the date of previous shifting if any. The applicant should have ownership in the well and service connection in the existing location and the ownership of the well in the proposed location .
. The well at the existing location owned by co-owner(s) should be having separate service connection(s). If the well at existing location is owned by co owners, but not having separate service connection(s), the consent of co-owner shall be obtained and enclosed with the application. • The well and service in the original location should be owned by the applicant(s) on the date of application and they should continue to be owned by the applicant(s) till the date of shifting the service to new location.
Shifting of service shall be considered irrespective of reasons put forth by the consumer.
. Shifting of service shall be considered even if the well/bore ceased to exist in present location.
. Shifting of service shall be considered even if the land alone is sold for non agricultural purpose, retaining well and service.
B. Competent authority to approve the shifting proposal:
If shifting is within the Circle - Approval to be accorded by the concerned. SE/EDC irrespective of shifting within the Section/Sub-Division/Division. If shifting is within the Region - Approval to be accorded by concerned Chief .
Engineers/Distribution. . If shifting is from one Region to another Region - Approval to be accorded by the Director/ Distribution. 3.0 All the relevant documents to be obtained and verified before processing the application.
4.0 Shifting estimate to be prepared under DCW category for the Agriculture service connection shifting from existing location to the proposed location after observing all the standard procedures existing in vogue.
5.0 It should be ensured that no court case/disputes/any arrears are pending before effecting the shifting. 6.0 The receipt of this letter shall be acknowledgement.
