WORLD OF NATURE
Ever since the existence of life on the Earth, all living things including human beings have been dependent on the environment. With the growthn population and advancement of science and technology, new needs have been created which in turn have increased man's dependence on the environment. In this process instead of conserving our environment, we have made it into a huge garbage bin where we discard large amount of waste materials everyday. Wastes are in the form of household waste, and wastes from factories and industries. Factories and industries create huge amount of solid, liquid and gaseous waste which is dumped in the environment. Waste disposal is a serious problem in the present day world. We should try to find out the solution of his problem to save our mother Earth.
PLASTIC - A BOON OR CURSE
Toothbrushes, buckets, water bottles, toys and carry bags are all made up of plastic. Parts of many electrical appliances are also made of plastic, e.g. cars, computers, juicers, refrigerator etc. Thus it can be said that we are living in the age of plastic. There are several thousand varieties of plastics and not all can be recycled. Thus disposal of plastic is a major concern in the present day.
Plastic is a versatile material for daily use because of the following features:
• It lasts long and is unbreakable unlike glass.
. It is lightweight. It is not affected by moisture.
Since plastics are not affected by moisture and microorganisms, the are non-biodegradablend cause environmental problems. Though plastic and its uses in different forms are definitely a boon, the problem is with the manner in which we overuse plastic items and in their disposal.
