1. Announcement made by the Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in gricult Budget 2021-2022. 2. From the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Chennai-10 Letter Rc.No.50414/2021/PDSM1, dated 09.09.2021.
ORDER:
In the Agriculture Budget for the Financial Year 2021-2022, following announcement has been made by the Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare:
"Measures will be taken to distribute Palm Jaggery, a value added palm product, derived from palm tree through Fair Price Shops in coordination
with Palm Development Board and Agricultural Co-operative Societies."
2. In the letter second read above, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies has requested orders of the Government for the sale of Palm Jaggery under the Public Distribution System through select Fair Price Shops run by Cooperatives throughout the State alongwith other Public Distribution System commodities, on pilot basis. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies has suggested modalities for procurement of Palm Jaggery through Khadi and Village Industries Board, margin to the Cooperatives, printing of the MRP rates, Date of Packing. Expiry and FSSAI Certificate Number on the sachets, etc. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies has also stated that the Chief Executive Officer, Khadi and Village Industries Board may be requested to organize suitable publicity campaigns at the District / Taluk / Village levels with the help of the District Collectors.
