STRUCTURE OF THE CELL

Animal Cells and the Membrane-Bound Nucleus

Cells in different shape and  size but their basic structure is same. A cell can be divided into three parts.

   1. cell membrance or plasma membrance

   2. cytoplasm

   3. nucleus.

CELL MEMBRANCE

Each cells has thin, delicate and flexible covering its know as cell membrance.. Its allows only certain substance to pass through it and prevents the entry of others. Thus, it is a semipermeable membrane.Cell membrance separates the cell from its surroundins. It protect the internal  compounds. In plant cell membrance called cell wall.

CYTOPLASM

Cytoplasm is a jelly -like colourless and translucent fluid (liquid) . It occupies the space between the cell membrance and the nucleus. A number of small componants or structures known as cell organelles are present in the cytoplasm. All  life functions take place in the cytoplasm.

NUCLEUS

It is the most important part of the cell. It is surrounded by a double membrance called the  nucleus membrance  is called  it is colourless nucleoplasm.  A Network of thread - like structure called chromatin is present in the nucleoplasm.

Nucleus is called the control centre of the cell . It helps in the transfer of characters from parents to their offspring. It plays an important role in cell division.
