WHAT DO WE SEE IN THE SKY? 

EARTH AND THE SUN 

Earth is round and spins like a top on an imaginary slanting line. It takes one day to complete one spin. The Sun is like a huge ball of fire and gives us light and heat. The Sun is much bigger than Earth The side of Earth facing the Sun has day. The side facing away from the Sun has night. The Sun appears to rise in the east. When it rises, it brings in the day. The Sun appears to set in the west. As it sets, the day slowly changes to night .

Moon

 The Moon is round and much smaller than Earth. It goes around Earth. We get light from the Moon, when it shines in the sky at night. The Moon seems to change its shape every night. 

 Stars 

Stars can be seen at night. They are very far away from us. Some s look small, while others look b Sun is also a star. Like the Sun stars also give off light because are madeof burning gases

Going to the Moon

A rocket travels very fast and can take you to the Moon. A person who travels into spajce in a rocket is called an astronaut. The astronaut wears a spacesuit. The first Indian to go to space was Rakesh Sharma. Kalpana Chawla was the first Indian woman to go to space, Sunita Williams was the second Indian woman to go to space, where she stayed for six months.
