Contributory Pension Scheme Retirees - Guidelines for claim under New Health Insurance Scheme -
Necessary Instructions - Issued - Regarding. Ref: G.O. Ms.No.204, Finance (Health Insurance) Department, Dated: 30.06.2022. I am to invite your attention to the reference cited wherein the New Health Insurance Scheme, 2022 for Pensioners (including spouse) / Family Pensioners has been implemented from 01.07.2022 to 30.06.2026 through United India Insurance Company Limited, Chennai to provide health care assistance upto Rs.5.00.000/- (Rupees five lakh only) for a block period of four years (2022-2026) to the Pensioners including spouse)/Family Pensioners on a CASHLESS basis with provision to avail medical assistance. A monthly subscription of Rs.497/- is to be recovered from the Pension of the Pensioners (including spouse) / Family Perisioners.

2. The above Scheme is compulsorily for all Pensioners including ouse) / Family Pensioncrs of all catcgories including Village Assistant Pensioners and inrespect of Contributory Pension Scheme Retirees, they are covered depending upon their willingness. The Retired Contributory Pension Scheme Employee and their spouse alone are entitled to exercise their option and submit in the prescribed Form appended in the Annexure-IT! duly signed by the Authorities concerned as stated in above said Government Order.
3. As per the said Government Order in para 11. a Retired Contributory Pension Scheme Employee and their spouse they are entitled to opt or not opt to avail the benefits under this scheme. If opting for the Scheme they should exercise option in the prescribed Form appended in the Annexure-III of the Guidelines to the Authorities concerned and shall remit their subscription in one lumpsum every year on or before 314 July for a block of four years commencing from 01.07.2022 to 30.06.2026 directly to the United India Insurance Company Limited or through its offices in the Districts duly giving an undertaking that remittance of yearly subscription shall be made by them for the subsequent years of the scheme also eventhough they exhaust the benefit of the total sum assured in the first year itself. 4. I am therefore to request you to issue necessary instructions to all your subordinate offices to intimate the availability of the Insurance Scheme to all the Contributory Pension Scheme Employees retired from your department so as to enable them to exercise the option for the scheme. Option Form for the Scheme submitted by the Contributory Pension Scheme Retirees and their spouse in the prescribed Form appended in the Annexure-III of thc Guidelines shall be verified and attested by the Head of the offices concerned.
5. As the Scheme period has commenced from 01.07.2022, this process must be done immediately by the Head of Departments / Head of Offices. Contributory Pension Scheme retirees shall remit their subscription in one lumpsum every year on or before 31-1 July for a block of four years commencing from 01.07.2022 to 30.06.2026 directly to the United India Insurance Company Limited or through its offices in the Districts duly furnishing an undertaking to continuc and make payment to the scheme for four years eventhough the maximum sum assured is exhausted in the first year itself.
